Terms of use
These terms cover use of Substrate Sentinel, a service of Substrate Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17374706). By sending us a document, messaging our WhatsApp number, or using the app, you agree to them. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind that company.
The service
Substrate Sentinel files shipping documents against shipments and shows status drawn from carrier milestones, vessel positions, and checks a person has logged. A status line is a reading of those sources. It is not a guarantee of where a shipment is, when it will arrive, or what a carrier or customs authority will do.
We may refuse a file we cannot read, park it for a person to confirm, or decline a message that is not about a shipment we track for you.
Who may use it
Access is for customers we have agreed to work with, and for people those customers allow. Email to docs@substrate-sentinel.com is accepted only from addresses the customer has listed. The app is not open to the public.
Our WhatsApp number is for documents and shipment status. When you message that number, you ask us to reply on WhatsApp about what you sent: the filing result, a question we need answered to file the document, or a status update if you asked for one.
We do not use the number for promotions, newsletters, or messages to people who have not contacted us. Outside an active conversation, WhatsApp only allows pre-approved template messages; we use those only to finish a reply you asked for, such as the result of a document that took time to read.
Reply STOP to opt out of further WhatsApp messages. Messaging us again, or replying START, opts you back in. WhatsApp’s own terms also apply to your use of the WhatsApp app.
Your documents
You keep ownership of the documents you send. You give us permission to store them, extract text from them, classify them, and show them to the people at your business who use the service. You confirm you have the right to share those documents with us, including any personal data in them.
Do not send documents you are not allowed to share, or content that is unlawful, abusive, or unrelated to a shipment.
Acceptable use
Do not try to break, probe, or overload the service, send malware, or use the service to message anyone who has not chosen to hear from you. We may suspend access if a use puts the service, another customer, or our WhatsApp account at risk.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Carrier feeds, WhatsApp, and other providers can fail or change. Tracking data can be late or wrong at the source; the product is built to show that, not to hide it.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.
Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profit, lost cargo, customs delay, or a decision you take from a status line or a filed document. Our total liability arising out of the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in that period, or one hundred pounds if you paid nothing.
Ending use
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete the documents and records we hold for you. We can stop providing the service on reasonable notice, or immediately if you break these terms or if WhatsApp or a provider requires it.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek an injunction in any court.
